Aretha Franklin's career and impact on our culture will long be remembered as one of the greatest in R&B history.  Born in Memphis, TN on March 25, 1942 Aretha touched the lives of many.  Raised by her father, a Baptist Pastor, her life was filled with music from a very early age.  She has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994 and a total of 18 Grammy Awards; she released more than 100 singles on the Billboard charts.  She was the first woman inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.  In 2010 Rolling Stone magazine placed Aretha at the top of its "100 Greatest Singers of All Time."
